- presentations are approximately 60 minutes, followed by light refreshments and fellowship;
- anyone wishing to remain after fellowship, there will be 30 minutes of small group discussion

- there is no fee to attend the sessions although Two-Twelve Ministries greatly appreciates any donations to support the ongoing mission of sharing the Gospel throughout the country; donations can be made here on this website, mailed to the Ministry address (7510 Leading Oaks, Live Oak, TX, 78233), or in person at any of the events (checks made out to ‘Two-Twelve Ministries’)

The five topics, which when offered can be found under the ‘Calendar’ tab with descriptions, dates, times, and locations, are:

1. Spiritual Warfare: The Battle is On, the Stakes are High
2. False Gospels, False Teachers, False Gods
3. Gone are the Days of Comfortable Christianity
4. The End Times: Are We There Yet?
5. Waking and Equipping the Saints

It is not necessary to attend all; it is not necessary to attend in order. These sessions will be offered as often as possible.

So………. what in the world is going on in the world? That question is being asked more and more these days. And for good reason. For those with “ears to hear and eyes to see”, the answer is not very difficult. It is the battle that has existed since the time of Adam and Eve. Satan wants to destroy our souls and drag them to hell for eternity. He is at war with Heaven. The only difference is that we are now able to see the effects of this battle more clearly as, perhaps, the end is near and he (satan) is getting very desperate. This series is meant to awaken the sleeping giant known as Christianity. We have a mighty battle in front of us. Life as we’ve known it as Christians, is over. We have entered a new era.

Foundational Scripture:
12 “For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens.”
- Ephesians 6:12

Baseline Beliefs
In order to fully benefit from the topics discussed in this series, we need to get back to the basics in terms of core Christian beliefs. There is a lot of confusion today about what a “Christian” is or, better yet, what a Christian believes. There are many in the Church who subscribe to the FALSE notion that we are to each pick and choose the things we want to believe and follow, and discard whatever we do not want to believe and follow, and still consider ourselves good Christians as long as we do the bare minimum of believing in a higher Power or attending Mass or church Service on a regular or somewhat regular basis. This is one of MANY deceptions that good, honest Christians have bought into. Make no mistake: it is a lie.

NOTE: Any Biblical references are taken from the same source as the one used by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, the New American Bible, and additional references taken from the Catechism of the Catholic Church are denoted with a page number (pg) and taken from the website of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.

I. The Authority of the Bible
• The Church accepts and venerates the Bible as inspired. (pg 52)
• (Thus) God ensured that the authors taught, without error, those truths necessary for our salvation. Inspiration is the word used for the divine assistance given to the human authors of the books of Sacred Scripture. This means that guided by the Holy Spirit, the human authors made full use of their talents and abilities while, at the same time, writing what God intended. It is important to understand… Scripture… is not simply the work of human authors… but truly the Word and work of God. (pg 55)
• Summary: The Church approaches Scripture as God’s revealed Word. Its authors wrote under the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is more than a human work; it is God’s words put into human words. (pg 59)

II. The Divinity of Jesus Christ
With the authority of the Bible as outlined above, that it is God’s word given error-free to the human authors, we can be certain:
• “There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved.” - Acts 4:12 (pg 112)
• The New Testament and the early Church Councils affirm in faith that Jesus is true God and true man. (pg 113)
• Jesus revealed God as Father in a new sense. God is Father in relation to his only Son. The Son is divine as is the Father. The Father testified to the unique relationship of Jesus to him as his Son at the baptism in the Jordan and at the Transfiguration: “This is my beloved Son.” (Matthew 3:17, 17:5) (pg 90)

III. The Authority of the Catholic Church
• “And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” - Matthew 16:18-19
• Jesus then proceeded to make Peter the rock on which he would build the Church. Peter… is chosen to lead God’s church. Jesus went further and promised to give Peter the “keys to the Kingdom of Heaven”, that is, authority to shepherd the Church. (pg 139)
• In order that the full and living Gospel might always be preserved in the Church the apostles left bishops as their successors. They gave them “their own positions of teaching authority.” (pg 57)

IV. The Role of Sacred Tradition
• Tradition is the living transmission of the message of the Gospel in the Church. The oral preaching of the Apostles and the written message of salvation under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (Bible) are conserved and handed on as the Deposit of Faith through the Apostolic Succession in the Church. Both the living Tradition and the written Scriptures have their common source in the revelation of God in Jesus Christ. (pg 53)

V. The Reality of Satan and Hell
Some in the Church today find it “fashionable” to not believe in the existence of a placed called Hell or of a spiritual entity whom the Church identifies as Lucifer or Satan. (Of course, this begs the question: if there is no Hell or no Satan, then why did Jesus die?)

To understand what is going on in the world, one must realize what has been going on since the moment the angel Lucifer fell from Heaven. He has one desire: to take every soul to Hell. Period. To see every soul that Jesus died for to spend an eternity in Hell and to forever be separated from the love of God. Thus, the Scripture quote above from St. Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.

From the moment you and I were conceived, and lasting all the way until we draw our final breath, Satan will not cease in trying to steal our soul and drag it to Hell. He will fight and claw and do everything He can. It is a battle we do not see with our physical eyes, although we can see the consequences of this battle if we know what to look for.

But before knowing what to look for, we need to fully grasp that there truly is a spiritual force all around us even though we do not see. The good news is that God has not abandoned us. We also have angels all around us. We have the Holy Spirit since our baptism.

Many of us have sung a popular song that says, “Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, open the eyes of my heart; I want to see You.” That’s what it is all about… to see with the eyes of our hearts.

I encourage everyone to seek out the Baptism of the Holy Spirit via attending a ‘Life in the Spirit Seminar’ (see list of resources). Upon attending, or if you already have but have not received this one particular Charismatic gift, I encourage you to pray to receive the gift of discernment of spirits. Upon receiving this gift you will never, ever see the world the same again.

If you have doubts about the reality of Satan, here is a great article about Jesus taking demons seriously.

Prior to Attending Your First Session
All of the information in the previous section is to make everyone aware that all of the presentations will be given within those parameters. If anyone does not fully accept all of I - V above, the sessions are not a time for argument, discussion, disagreement. The presentations are given with a purely Roman Catholic backdrop. That is not open for discussion. If anyone would like to schedule an appointment to meet with me regarding any of those topics outside of the presentations times, that would be fine.

The presentations are not meant to tell anyone how they should live their lives. The presentations are instead meant to:

(1) Open the eyes of everyday Christians to the reality of ‘spiritual warfare’;
(2) See this spiritual warfare as it is being waged in the world around us;
(3) To better understand the Truth of what is expected of Christians;
(4) For Christians to then decide to accept the Truth and act on it or to reject the Truth

While the topic of ‘False Gospels’ will be touched upon in Presentation 2, let it be said now that the False Gospel of “Political Correctness” will not affect any of the presentations; that is, there will be no attempt to water down the Truth in the name of avoiding the possibility of “offending” anyone. The Truth will be presented. There will never be an apology for sharing the Truth. If anyone makes the choice that he/she wants to feel offended by the Truth, he/she will need to work that out on their own.

Prior to attending, please take a few minutes to read and reflect upon the Scripture from Ephesians provided at the start. Then reflect on these questions:

What is my baseline belief about:
• the authority of the Bible?
• the authority of Jesus Christ?
• the authority of the Catholic Church?
• the reality of Hell and Satan?
